Excavation
Prior to excavation, you will need to position your home on the building lot and mark the location with batter boards. Usually an engineer will stake out the site to establish the depth required for your foundation.
Bidding Process
Your builder will submit bid request to his excavation crews to accretion the price to excavate your foundation. If you are acting as your own general contractor, this will be your responsibility. The cost to dig a foundation will vary geographically from town to town and state to state.
In addition to the cost of digging a hole for your foundation, the excavator will also provide a price for removing any fill that must be removed from the building site.
